ABOUT THE TRAVELING EXHIBIT:
At each workshop, a juried show of not more than 25 pieces will be selected, and designated as “The Mississippi Art Colony Traveling Show”. If you will be attending the session, you can bring up to 3 pieces (only two can be paintings, the third must be a drawing) to be considered for judging. The artist is responsible for delivering these pieces to Colony and removing them at the conclusion of the current Colony session. All works submitted for consideration must be correctly submitted for judging no later than 8:30 a.m. Tuesday with show labels on the back. Digital images should be submitted a week before the 1st day of Colony.

- Traveling Show entries for each artist are limited to 3 entries total. These MUST be 2 paintings and 1 drawing only.
- Dimensions not to exceed 40” x 50” x 6” depth, and not more than 25 lbs.
- Print travel show labels
- Send digital images a week in advance of the first day of Colony. Send them to glenn@sanfordarts.com. Images should not exceed 2MG.
- All works must be for sale at the time of entry. Works may not be removed from show while it is traveling.
- Each person attending workshop for a minimum of two days is eligible to enter.
- Work must be completed in last 3 yrs & not previously selected for a colony show.
- Framed and wired appropriately for museum and/or gallery display—keep in mind—they will be traveling!
- All entries MUST be available to travel if accepted.
- PLEXIGLAS ONLY ENTRIES! No glass. Glass will disqualify any entry. NO exceptions!!
- All entries must be submitted by 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning with appropriate paperwork completed. If you plan to arrive after Tuesday a.m. but will be in attendance for at least two days, you may send your entries with someone else. If you do this PLEASE provide ALL information needed to enter!
- Entries must be priced for varying gallery commission up to 50%.
- Paperwork must be complete for ALL entries!
- All entries submitted to show at artist’s own risk. Any necessary framing repairs during the Traveling Show will be done at Artist’s expense.
- The previous workshop’s Traveling Show is returned to Colony at Lake Tiak O’Khata during the workshop. You are responsible for picking work up or arranging for someone to pick it up for you. Neither Colony nor Lake Tiak O’Khata is responsible for your piece if you haven’t made arrangements.
- Failure to comply with any or all of these rules will result in the artist’s being ineligible to enter this workshop’s competition.
